Champagne native Anne-Sophie Dubois is shaking up Beaujolais’ viticultural scene like no other. Dubois farms her eight hectares in Fleurie all organically and uses a hands-off approach in the winery, favoring classic vinification over the signature ‘Beaujolais-style’ carbonic. ‘L’Alchimiste’ is named after a Paulo Coelho novel on pursuing dreams and learning lessons while doing so. Fruit is 100% destemmed and hails from 40+ year old vines. The wine then ages in a combination of cement and oak barrels and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
