St. George is certainly my favorite domestic distillery and might be my favorite distillery globally as well. These guys are some of the pioneers of craft distilling in the states and everything they produce is as farm-to-glass as they can be, unapologetically shying away from mass production to focus on quality and taste. Their gins are what turned me into a gin lover and pushed me to explore other craft distilleries.
That said, let’s talk about the Terroir Gin. This gin is infused with botanicals that are uniquely Californian with douglas fir and California bay laurel as the two primary botanicals in the mix. It rounds out with some spice from coriander and a hint of citrus on the finish. While some say this gin is a “winter” gin, evoking flavors and aromas of Christmas time, I feel like it's a Springtime gin. It’s bright and piney and reminds me of the first time you go for a hike when the winter chill has burned off and the forest is awakening from its slumber. But hey, throw it in a savory martini or a herb-forward gin & tonic and skip the walk altogether!
